Uvwie Kingdom is a traditional realm located in Delta State, Nigeria, predominantly inhabited by the Urhobo people. It also functions as one of the twenty-five Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state, with its administrative headquarters in Effurun.

Uvwie transitioned from a clan to a kingdom in 1954 with the establishment of a monarchy. On December 1, 1954, Johnson Ejuvwiekoko Edjekohwo Eruohwo was crowned as Eruphwo II, the first Ovie (king) of Uvwie Kingdom.
Traditional Leadership
The current monarch is His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, OON, Abe I, who ascended the throne following the kingdom’s traditions. In December 2024, he celebrated his 81st birthday, receiving accolades for his contributions to peace and development in Uvwie and the broader Urhobo nation. Additionally, in July 2023, he was elected Chairman of the Association of Urhobo Traditional Rulers, reflecting his esteemed position among his peers.
